He puts his sandals on the land, on the sand, where they walked
Oh one by one, oh one by one.
There's the edge in his hand, glinting brand of the hero,
One by one, oh one by one.
Following the son, consumed by your shadows,
Asterion, ruler of stars
Desire made a house, cursed to birth the mouth
That would eat them one by one by one
Fourteen in row, they would go, so young, so young,
One by one by one
Followed by the son, consumed by your shadows,
Asterion, ruler of stars
Their hopeless lives unfold as you're threading your way through the dark
You won't think about the stories untold, the minute he finds his mark
Every horizon has a sail, for every tale is won by someone, lost by someone
At the heart of every maze comes a blaze, comes the monstrous son
Oh one by one by one
He prays he won't miss
Now the shadows are all there is
Now the shadows are all there is
Asterion, ruler of stars
Asterion, ruler of stars
Ruler of stars.

There Go I

I was walking between frosts, on a dark night, that conjured stars from streetlights.
It was then i heard a sweet voice, an illusionist with lost eyes,
He said "Where the river goes awry, where the mountains catch the sky, where the forest speaks, oh there go I."
I was slipping into dusk dreams, chalk drawings, making monsters in concrete.
He said that he could take the neon I had come from and with his magic give me glades. I longed to shelter in his leaves.
He said to me, "Where the river goes awry, where the mountains catch the sky, where the forest speaks oh there go I. Where the willow guards the streams, where the spirits mine the seams, where the dragon flies, there go I."
I wonder if times gone by, could ever be more than just stories. Could ever be more than just stories.
I was walking feeling lost, on a dark night, that conjured stars, from street lights. It was then I heard a sweet voice, in the darkness, my last illusionist, with his lost eyes.
I said, "Where the willow guards the stream, where the spirits mine the seams, where the dragon flies, there go I. Where the river goes awry, where the mountains catch the sky, where the forest speaks oh there go I, where the forest speaks oh there go I, where the forest speaks oh there go I."

A clarion call took his friends, they say the sea ties up all loose ends,
it calls him now in his dreams, he thinks
Cover your ears, he thinks, cover your ears, but she sings
Oh you are my desire, burning like star fire, oh you are.
Wet wood creaks in the dark, too wet under foot to light a spark
there's rolling fog away starboard
He thinks, cover your ears, he thinks, cover your ears,
but she sings,
Oh you are my desire, burning like star fire, oh you are.
Not a sinner on deck, the wood under his hands is wet,
but the sea has her face
He thinks, cover your eyes, he thinks, let go of the side,
as they sing
Oh you are my desire, burning like star fire, oh you are.
A clarion call took his friends, they say the sea ties up all loose ends.
